Natural Trails
The area where Nepi was built is of volcanic origin, crossed by streams flowing down from the nearby Cimini Mountains and marked by deep ravines known as “forre.” Within these, you’ll find various scenic nature trails to enjoy.

The Via Amerina
An ancient road, a testament to Roman-era expansionism, remains one of the best-preserved routes in southern Etruria. Characterized by basalt slabs, it passes through several villages of Tuscia, forests, untouched green areas, necropolises, and “tagliate falische” (ancient Etruscan road cuts).

The Via Francigena
In Nepi, the Cimina Variant of the Via Francigena passes through—a network of routes that extends from Canterbury, crossing both France and Italy, and reaches Santa Maria di Leuca in Puglia. This section branches off from the old aqueduct to Via della Salivotta, passing through the Vie Cave or Cavoni (ancient Etruscan roadways).
