Claudio Giglietti Family during Harmony International Festival 2024

The International Harmony Festival concludes with a thunderous round of applause. For four days, Nepi became the stage for the inaugural International Harmony Festival – Claudio Giglietti, shining the spotlight of international music on the City of Waters..

Despite the unfavorable weather, the artists delivered outstanding performances, filling every concert venue and offering powerful emotions to all attendees—thankfully, in warm and dry conditions.

The Festival was born from an idea by Paolo Paoletti, the Councilor for Culture of the Municipality of Nepi, to commemorate the untimely passing of Claudio Giglietti, a former clarinetist with the Italian Air Force Band and a remarkably talented multidisciplinary artist.

He made significant contributions to the world of Italian musical and instrumental art, not only as a musician but also as an extraordinary wind instrument repairer with unparalleled skill. The success of this admirable initiative was made possible through the dedication and collaboration of his lifelong friends, who worked tirelessly to honor his memory.

At the closing night, the L’Acquedotto Cultural Center was bursting at the seams with the large crowd in attendance and, once again, with thunderous applause that might well have been heard all the way to the town walls.

The Administration and its representative, Councilor for Culture Paolo Paoletti, have already announced that this was just the first of many such events. Reflecting on this inaugural edition, Paoletti commented:

The energy and effort invested in this festival have been richly rewarded by the audience’s affection and their praise for the event. The final outcome surprised even us. As with any new project, there were many uncertainties, but we were absolutely certain that everything would turn out for the best, as a great man was watching over us from above. His gaze and smile guided and strengthened us every step of the way. Above all, this was a festival of friendship, for all who knew him and wanted to honor him.

I want to thank my entire team—a group of incredible people who never stopped working—the amazing artists who answered the call, and his family: starting with his wife Carla, his mother Cecilia, his children, and his relatives, who have endured months of immense sadness. I hope, in these past few days and in my small way, to have brought them some strength and joy.

Finally, it was an honor for me and for Mayor Franco Vita to present the annual Nepi Award to Claudio, whose professionalism and passion elevated our town’s reputation. My commitment, along with that of my administration and the entire team, is to continue this endeavor, striving to make Nepi once again recognized as a small capital of international music.”

Highlighting the significance of Councilor Paoletti’s efforts, whose invaluable contributions, tireless presence, and exceptional professionalism in directing and organizing the festival ensured that all the preparation and hard work did not go to waste, all we can do now is eagerly await the upcoming editions. We look forward to taking our seats once again to immerse ourselves in the music, the joy, and, of course, the applause.
