The Nepi Cathedral is becoming increasingly accessible in its cultural and artistic aspects, in addition to its liturgical role, thanks to the Exhibition Pathway inaugurated on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in the presence of city authorities.
The pathway consists of 20 illustrative ‘totems’ that narrate the history of the monument and some of its significant works through bilingual captions (Italian and English), guiding visitors and worshippers during their visit and prayer in the cathedral.

The project was carried out by the Social Promotion Association OPERA3, with the support of the Municipality of Nepi and the collaboration of the parish priest, Father Edward Swiatkovski. OPERA3 was established three years ago to promote the “treasures” of Nepi, starting with the Cathedral’s Treasure, which is, in essence, the cathedral itself.
Paola Berardi, President of OPERA3, explains: “If the cathedral is the domus – the home – of the people of Nepi, it is because it remains a gathering place beyond its sacred function. Enhancing it, placing it in the context of the town’s long history, and explaining the iconographic richness of its works help to strengthen its important social role while respecting its identity as a place of worship.
Faith, culture, and art converge in the cathedral’s exhibition system, designed by industry professionals starting from its logo and realized with an erudite yet inclusive language. The English version is also tailored for an interested but non-specialist audience: tourists, pilgrims, religious visitors, or foreign scholars exploring the site.
The first to read the caption next to the painting depicting Saint Isidore the Farmer were two young Colombians, who shared with us a proverb dedicated to the saint: «San Isidro Labrador quita el agua y pone el sol» (Saint Isidore the Farmer takes away the rain and brings the sun).
A few lines of text under a painting, and connections between worlds and cultures are already being formed. Starting from home, by making our home more beautiful.“
